Grayson was born on September 4, 1985 in Big Spring Texas to Dr. Richard C. Cauley and Deede Hinckley Cauley
Grayson graduated from Big Spring High School May 2004. He was a member of the Big Spring High School baseball team. He was sought out by the teacher in charge of the Big Spring High School Yearbook to join the yearbook staff which included designing the yearbook cover. He graduated from Texas Tech University, Rawls College with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management. He was a member of the Delta Pi professional organization. While still at Texas Tech he worked for Yahoo Sports – RedRaiderSports.com.
He has worked for the last eleven-and-a- half-years as a Surface Landman for CrownQuest. He was a trusted, honest, and competent employee and contact for the landowners, tenants, engineers, and contractors. He enjoyed and appreciated the men and women with whom he worked. He was a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen starting in 2013. On the side, Grayson was a business consultant, webmaster, graphic designer and a trusted advisor to the Real Reading Company.
He kept a beautiful home, was a phenomenal gourmet cook, and could grill the best steak one ever had. He developed his own delicious hot sauce recipe and even bottled it. Even in elementary school he did a lovely wood carving, was a Little League All-Star, and at fourteen was a finalist with his logo design for the LIVE PLANET. He was intelligent and curious. The last month of his life, he posted a story two people picked up to use on their podcasts. He could write with clarity, creativity, and humor.
Grayson is survived by his parents, Dr. Richard C. Cauley and Deede Hinckley Cauley (Big Spring, TX) who are heartbroken and will miss him dearly, his son Asher Ross Cauley, 14 years old, (Arlington). Grayson and Asher laughed, enjoyed spending time together, had many father son discussions, deeply loving one another. Grayson was looking forward to participating in more of Asher’s life (studies, football, track, and chess).
He also is survived by Asher’s lovely mother, Lindsey Jackson (Arlington) and awesome grandparents, Wes and Sharla Jackson (Arlington). They embraced him as a member of their family and loved him. He was adored by his many aunts and uncles and nine cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents – Dr. De L. Hinckley, Jr. (Grammy Pa); Dorothy Jean Kelly Hinckley (Grammy); Dr. Marshal Quinton Cauley (Grandaddy); and Marion Rogers Cauley (Grandmommy).
Grayson was a believer in the God who sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins. He was an awesome father, faithful husband, and phenomenal son. His cousins thought of him as their “funny, kind, encouraging, and cool” cousin. He was respected and a faithful and caring lifelong friend to many, a loving grandson, nephew, and cousin. He rejoiced in the success of others and was a prayer warrior for those he loved.
And he was grateful and loved his two little faithful furry friends, Kooper (a Yorkie “angel”) and Yogi (a busy toddler Yorkie). “A righteous man regards the life of his beast.” Proverbs 12:10
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the many friends and family that have offered support, care, and comfort.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christian organization of your choice. We pray that anyone who has not personally met Jesus will seek Him and know that He will find you.
Matthew 7:7-8
Verse on the cover of his Bible:
“Show me the right path, O Lord, point out the road for me to follow” Psalms 25:4
