Glenda Jeanette Lane was welcomed into her eternal life with her Lord and Savior on April 29, 2025. She was 58 years young. Glenda was born in Midland on December 4, 1966 to Roy and Hazel Jeanette Kirkpatrick. She was a proud graduate of Robert E. Lee High School – Let’s Go Rebs!
On April 22, 1988 she married her soulmate, Gary Shannon Lane, and together they built a life they loved. The couple raised two daughters, Hilary and Megan, and as a family they filled their lives with animals, lake trips, dancing, laughter, cruises, and movie quotes.
Glenda graduated from UTPB with a degree in accounting. She worked as an accountant for many prominent businesses including Barnett’s Landscaping, Southwest Convenience Stores, KMID, Basic Energy Services, and Steward Cable to name a few. In 2011 she opened her own accounting and bookkeeping firm, Lane and Associates. Together with her husband, Gary, they owned and operated several other successful businesses in Midland.
Glenda loved to travel and was able to see the sun rise and set in some of the most beautiful places in the world, including the ones from her very own lake house. She loved to gamble (because she normally won), getting her way (because she usually did), Coca Cola, nutcrackers, seahorses, working puzzles, her lake house, helping others and spending time with her family.
Glenda is preceded in death by her grandparents and her parents, Roy & Jeanette. She will be greatly missed and continue to live in their hearts as wife, best friend and soulmate to her husband of 37 years, Gary Lane; Mom and mother-in-law to daughter Hilary Hodnett along with her husband Brian Hodnett; Mom to her daughter Megan Lane; sister to Vickie Moore and Sandy Daniel along with their husbands Leslie Moore and Nick Daniel; daughter by marriage to her father and mother Gary O. and Lynda Lane; and Grammie to her five grandchildren, Hunter, Urijah, Hallie, Shelby and Atalie.
A celebration in remembrance of this beautiful, well lived life will be held on May 31, 2025 at Fannin Terrace Baptist Church, 2800 Mogford St., Midland, TX, 79705 from 2-4 PM. A light reception will follow. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude’s, a charity Glenda actively supported.
