Geraldine R. Lindsey Spencer, age 77, died Sunday, October 12, 2003 after battling with cancer for two years. Geraldine, known as Jerry to family and friends, was born in Tonkawa, Oklahoma on May 13, 1926. Jerry descended from many generations of Texans, a fact she was often to point out with her membership in The Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Social Order of the Beauceant. As a child, Jerry moved often with her 5 sisters and mother in following her dad's job in the oil field, and finally settled near Big Spring where she lived for over 60 years. Jerry was married to the late Neil Spencer of Big Spring, and is survived by two sisters ? Shirley Pfeiffer of Kerrville, Texas, and Sandra Harper of Villa Rica, Georgia. Jerry is also survived by two children, a son ? Joe Robert Spencer of Dallas, Texas, and a daughter ? Mary Lindsey Spencer-Wilkins of St. Louis, Missouri. Jerry had three grandchildren ? Jennifer Spencer of Dallas, Texas, Jason Spencer of Austin, Texas, and Spencer Wilkins of St. Louis, Missouri. In addition, Jerry will be missed by two great-grandchildren ? Jace and Jaret Donaghe. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 15 from 6:00 ? 8:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services for Jerry Spencer will be Thursday, October 16 at 2:00pm at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with graveside rites at Trinity Memorial Park following.
