Geraldine (Mickie) Marie Barlow, 90 of Big Spring, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 5pm -7pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, December 8 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
Mickie was born October 25, 1932 in Pittsfield, MA to Emery L. Eurbin and Celina Rail Eurbin. She married Robert E. Barlow April 23, 1955 in Tennessee. After relocating to Big Spring with Webb Air Force Base, she attended Howard College where she obtained her LVN degree. She worked at Hall-Bennett Hospital with Dr. Thomas, the VAMC Hospital as well as the Big Spring State Hospital for many years. She also volunteered for 55 & Alive and taught the class for DMV to dismiss tickets. She also volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul and the Holy Trinity Food Pantry. She loved her Siamese cats. She also loved to read, listening to Johnny Cash, knitting and crocheting.
Mickie is survived by her son: Robert Barlow; one daughter: Cheryl Brown; nephews: George and Cindy Shepard, Roger Shepard, Al Eurbin; grandchildren: Angela McCormick, Martin McCormick, Sonia Barlow and Robert D. Barlow “Bubba” and several great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister Martha “Marty” Shepard, one brother Phil Eurbin and a brother-in-law Roger Shepard.
