GEORGE REYNOLDS BROWN, JR. After a six-month battle with cancer, George Reynolds Brown, Jr. passed away June 2, 2010 in his home in Stafford, Virginia. Reynolds was born October 27, 1957 in Ft. Worth, Texas to George Reynolds Brown, Sr. and Floy McWilliams Brown. He graduated from Memorial High School in Tulsa, OK in 1975. He attended the University of Oklahoma and later finished his degree in geology at the University of Texas, Permian Basin in 1983. Reynolds began his 20 years of service with Waste Management in Dallas, Texas. After living in several places, he was transferred to Stafford, VA as the Industrial Project Manager in-Plant Services Group. He loved his job and co-workers tremendously. Reynolds enjoyed playing golf and was a great reader. He is survived by his mother, Floy Brown, Manor Park of Midland, Texas; aunts Myra Robinson of Big Spring, Texas and Lucy Saye of Clarendon, Texas and many cousins. His father and infant sister Ellen preceded him in death. Reynolds was a member of Summit Presbyterian Church in Stafford. His family would like to express deep appreciation to Rev. Steve Dyer for his many visits, to Donna Noonan for her many hours of loving care, to Hospice and his friends and co-workers with Waste Management. Graveside services will be held in the Colorado City Cemetery in Colorado City, Texas on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11:00 am. Rev. Walter Thompson, First Presbyterian Church, Midland, will officiate. Reynolds and I roomed together twice at OU. We met in 1975 on the fifth floor of Walker Tower and became friends. Reynolds always had a way about him that was unique and pretty darn great. I'm sorry we drifted apart for so long and I'm really sorry I didn't call him this past Spring, before it was too late. I miss you, buddy.

Rey was such a nice and gracious man. He will be missed by many. Our prayers are with his family that they peace beyond their understanding.

Rey will be missed. He was always the first to help someone else. It was a pleasure to know him on the Coin Forum.

A member of the NGC Collectors Society, he was a true gentleman. I've known Rey thru the forum for a couple years now and we've talked over the phone and I came to know him as a great friend. He will be missed dearly. My sincerest sympathies go out to all his family!

Reynolds was a pleasure to work with and always could make me laugh even when I was having a challenging day at work. I also have fond memories if working with him in Galveston and New Orleans. We will miss you. God bless.

Rey, we will miss you and your enthusiasm. Our discussions regarding coins brought us together and you will be remembered within the coin community for a very long time to come.

Rey was a great gentleman whom I feel blessed to have known. Unfortunately, I never met Rey face to face, but spoke many times via pms and emails regarding coin issues. I met Rey on the NGC coin forum and truly consider it a high point of my life. May God Bless him and has family. Jim

Rey kept up with his numismatic interests to the end. In fact, he complimented some some of my recent purchases on 5/23. I'm going to miss a good deal. He was a solid enjoyable guy.

Rey, I am sorry that we never got to meet in person, but I certainly always enjoyed our numismatic conversations, especially your patience and sense of humor. Some of your coins will permanently remain in my collection. May the Good Lord bless you and keep you always!

Though I never got to meet Rey I considered him a friend. We had several coin chats and it was always good to hear from him. Rey you will be dearly missed by me and all those that were privileged to get to know you.

My heartfelt condolences to Rey's family, friends, and loved ones. He was one of the good guys, and will truly be missed by all of us.

I have very fond memories of working with Reynolds and and was so saddened to hear. I especially appreciated Reynolds' warmth and humor. He left this Earth far too early, but his smile and spirit will always be found in our hearts.

I met Rey in a coin chat room and examined some of his late Dad's collection and a friendship soon grew. I will miss Rey and his thirst for knowledge on all levels.

I am certainly going to miss all of the pleasant conversations that we had on the NGC forums and all of the time spent searching for railroad medals. May the Lord keep and bless you, Rey.

Rey was an amazing gentleman in so many ways, and I feel privileged to have known him. I will never forget him.

I had the pleasure of working with Reynolds when he first started the Maritime Services business at WM and I will always remember his determination, wit, and perseverance dealing with the challenges of that start up. He made a tough job fun. He was a great guy and I am saddened by his passing.

Reynolds was one of those guys that made going to work a pleasure. There was something about his calming demeanor that made being around him a joy. I am deeply saddened at his passing, and grateful for having known him. Thanks Reynolds.
