George Dana Zimmerman, 82, of Midland passed away on November 25, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Northwestern Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Highley officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. He was born on April 24, 1935 in Roswell, New Mexico to George Dean and Murial Zimmerman. He grew up in Roswell and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Mexico. He served in the United States Army for 4 years followed by service in the United States Army Reserves.George married the love of his life Pat Cole and together they had two sons, Robert and Tom. George was an independent geologist in the oil and gas industry until 1989. After retiring as a geologist, he ran for Justice of the Peace, where he served Midland County for 18 years. He was a member of Northwestern Baptist Church and was very active there. George was also a member of the Lion’s Club and loved serving pancakes year after year. George was a fantastic man, who loved the Lord, and was always charitable, supporting numerous charities over the years. Mostly, he loved his family and was head over hills in love with his wife, Pat. Survivors include his wife, Pat Zimmerman of Midland; son, Dr. Robert Zimmerman and his wife Robyn of Paris, Texas; son, Tom Zimmerman of Midland; 4 grandsons, John, Michael, Thomas, and Garrett; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Dorothy Cole of Olympia, Washington and Louise Ippilito of San Antonio, Texas.
