Gene (Geno) Gordon1952 – 2017God lovingly and gently took Gene in His arms and took him home on April 6, 2017. There is no more pain or suffering as God has healed him.Gene was born in Excelsior, Minnesota to David and Betty Gordon on September 8, 1952. He served in the Army from 1971 – 1974 and was honorably discharged. Gene and his wife Terri met in high school and were married in 1974. They started their life together in Richfield, Minnesota before moving to Texas in 1983 and enjoyed 42 ½ wonderful years together.Gene started his career as a bio-med tech in Big Spring and retired from Midland Memorial in Midland in 2006 due to illness and received a liver transplant in May 2008.In 2012 Gene realized his dream of building his retirement cabin in Hayward, Wisconsin where he enjoyed much of his time working on his land and cabin. After his wife retired, they spent 6 wonderful months there. He spent many happy hours with his friends Bobbi, Jeff and Carrie up north. Thank you Bobbi, Jeff and Carrie as you all gifted Gene with your friendship in your own special ways. His proudest moments were getting to see his grandchildren born and enjoy the cabin and land he loved.Gene was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2015. While sick he was still able to truly enjoy the last part of his life and holidays surrounded by his family.Gene enjoyed woodworking, rootin’ for the Packers, playing dominoes with his friend Chris and working with solar lighting. His love of his lights will surely guide his way to heaven.Gene is survived by his wife and best friend, Terri; sons, Jay (Brittany) of Midland and Zed (Lachelle) of Colorado; brothers, Gary (Linda) of Minnesota, Steve (Kathi) of Arizona; sister, Ann (Kenny) of Arizona; granddaughters – the joy of his life, Julian, Mailyn and Mackinzy; many nieces and nephews and friends he’s made over the years; and his special friend and furry buddy, Louie.Gene has left us.
