Gary Claude Winans, 81, of Midland, Texas, passed away on January 24, 2023.
Gary was born in Big Spring, TX on January 2nd, 1942. He graduated from Nederland High School on May 26, 1960 and continued on to receive a degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Houston.
Gary began working as a pharmacist in San Angelo where he met his wife Marilyn. Gary was married to Marilyn on June 4, 1969, in San Angelo, TX. He moved to Alvin, TX in 1972 where he was the owner of Alvin Pharmacy until 1988. He continued working as a pharmacist in Midland, TX until he retired.
Gary was a member of the Freemasons and he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, & rooting for his favorite sports teams.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Luray Winans. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 53 years as well as his two children Brian (Hilary) Winans of Cedar Park, TX and Brandi (Courtney) Turner of Midland, TX, grandchildren Andrea and Emelyn, twin brother Larry, and several other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Everyone is invited to celebrate Gary’s life at memorial services to be held at 10am on February 20th at the chapel of The First Baptist Church of Midland. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the First Baptist Church of Midland.
