Garlin Herbert Cain, Jr. entered life on June 12, 1934 and left it on September 30, 2018. He did both in Midland, Texas. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Peggy Barnes Cain; his sons, Mike Cain and Gary Cain; his daughter, Camille Cain Cone; his nephew, Paul Cain; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 grandnieces; many other loved ones, and a few tall tales. He served his country in the U.S. Army and his hometown in the oil fields. He had an ingenious mind, a boundless sense of humor, and a sweet tooth the size of his beloved state of Texas. Kids made him giggle and he was always there with a gentle tease or a willingness to act as horse for any young, aspiring cowboy or cowgirl. He loved his family, football, and the work of Louis L'Amour. He is missed. His family will hold a celebration of his life and legacy at Bellview Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 3 at 11:30 am, where he was a member. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Midland or the Bellview Baptist Church Capital Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at npwelch.com.,
