Freda Jo Hoover (Bond) was called to the Kingdom of Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 18, 2022 after a long battle with dementia. She passed peacefully while in a private care home in Lewisville, Texas. She was 98 years old.
Freda was born in Cooper, Texas on May 25th, 1924 to Luther and Beulah Bond. She was raised in and graduated from high school from Coahoma, Texas. She then moved to Big Spring which would be her home for the next 50 years. She met her life-long husband to be, Russell Hoover at Webb Air Force Base during WWII.
Freda was a long-time member of the First Christian Church in Big Spring. She and her husband were members during the construction of the Church. She was employed at Big Spring High School as the Principal’s secretary. She accepted the position on a temporary basis until the Principal could find a permanent secretary. She retired well after the Principal did. Freda lived her life through her children, Ken Hoover, Rev. Robin Hoover Ph.D., and Janet Callison.
She is survived by her son, Ken Hoover, Reverend Dr. Robin Hoover and wife Clair Hoover, and Janet Callison. Her grandchildren are Kristy Trick (Kevin Trick), Emily Hoover (Jaspal Singh), Katie Sensat (Zack Sensat), Russ Callison and Jocelyn Hoover. Great-Granchild Audrey Sensat and Great-Great Grand Children, Axel and Ryker Waltman.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM, June 23, 2022 at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Ken McIntosh Ph.D. of Amarillo, Texas presiding.
