Fred Leggett, 83 of Midland, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022. He was born August 21, 1939 to C.L and Thelma Leggett in Uvalde, Tx. His family moved to the Greenville area and later settled in Albany, Tx. Fred joined the Air Force at 18 where he served for 20 years. Following his service, he moved to Midland where he owned and operated an appliance store and an archery store. He had an enthusiasm for a variety of things such as drag racing, hunting, and archery, excelling competitively.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Clyde “Butch” Leggett, and a sister Delores White. He is survived by his wife Eileen Leggett with whom he shared 63 years of love and friendship, 2 sisters, Linda (Richard) Campbell and Melissa (Carl) Dotson, 3 children, Cindy (Israel) Patino, Douglas (Deann) Leggett and Glenn (Cathy) Leggett, 10 grandchildren Jennifer (Tommy) Zarate, Blake (Katherine) Leggett, Israel (Gaby) Patino Jr., Aaron (Danielle) Patino, Shea (K’Leigh) Leggett, Caleb (Kristian) Patino, Joel (Michelle) Patino, Conor Leggett, Erin (Ty) Gautier, Jared Patino and 25 great-grandchildren all of whom will greatly miss him. For one’s legacy is etched in the hearts of others and the stories they share of you.
A memorial will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at The Branch at Nalley-Pickle & Welch 3800 N. Big Spring St. Midland, TX 79705. Military Funeral Honors will be presented at 4:00pm.
