Allene Pearce

Frankie Allene Pearce, affectionately known as Allene, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, in Big Spring, Texas. Born May 20, 1934, in Lamesa, Texas to Joseph Marvin and Hattie Lena (McMurry) Peterson, Allene lived a life defined by love, resilience, and joy.

Allene married the love of her life, Harold Pearce, on July 6, 1952, in Lamesa. They moved to Big Spring where Harold was stationed in the Air Force. She was excited to see the world with her Flyman, however, they would stay in Big Spring and raise three children together in a home filled with laughter, faith, and love. Their marriage was a true partnership, remembered by all who knew them as a shining example of commitment and joy.

Allene’s happiest moments were spent surrounded by family. Thanksgiving was her favorite tradition, a time when the table grew longer each year to welcome new family members. She delighted in commemorating the occasion with custom t-shirts designed by one of her grandsons, a playful reminder of her joy in seeing her family together.

A proud member of First Methodist Church Big Spring, Allene lived her faith through service and kindness. She retired as Assistant Manager from the Big Spring Education Employees Federal Credit Union, where she built lasting friendships and touched countless lives. Known for her generosity, she always had a casserole ready for neighbors and friends in need.

Allene’s passions were many—sewing, scrapbooking, and playing games like bridge and 42 or Cancellation Hearts with the grandkids. She was witty, funny, and endlessly optimistic, a “glass half full” spirit who met life’s challenges with courage. A three-time cancer survivor, she often reminded her family, “Why not me?”—a testament to her strength and humility. She embraced change with grace, even learning to text and use social media so she could stay connected with her grandchildren.

Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. She taught her family to meet life with humor, to care deeply for one another, and to find joy in everyday moments.

Allene leaves behind a family who adored her: daughters Beverly Dabovich (Nick) and Cindy Barnes (Gary), son Brent Pearce (Natalie), grandchildren Craig Dabovich (Jillian), Leslie Dabovich, Ryan Barnes (Colleen), John Barnes (Kristen), Tyler Reason (Dalton), Ashton Spradlin (Ethan), Rylee, Erin, and Kendall Pearce, and great-grandchildren Case and Cannon Dabovich, Nolan and Spencer Dempsey, Collyn Jo, Danny, and Jase Reason, Sutton and Deacon Spradlin, and Grayson Barnes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Pearce; her infant daughter, Deborah Pearce; her sister, Beth Cobler; and her brothers, Marvin Peterson and Billy Joe Peterson.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Nalley-Pickle Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at the chapel of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately with family at Trinity Memorial Park.  Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com.
