Frances Ringener, age 96, of Big Spring, Texas, passed away on December 27, 2025.
Frances was born on October 8, 1929, to Edgar and Virgie Fryar Phillips. She grew up in Big Spring as part of a farming family and graduated from Big Spring High School, maintaining deep roots in the community she would call home her entire life.
Frances had a love for shopping and bowling, a passion that became a lifelong vocation. Alongside her then husband, J.M. Ringener, she owned and operated the Big Spring Bowl-A-Rama for many years, creating a place of fun, fellowship, and lasting memories for generations of families. She was also a longtime and devoted member of First Baptist Church in Big Spring.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Dorothy “Dot” Yater; and her brother, Fred Phillips.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Becky Fields and husband Alton; and her son, Philip Ringener and wife Milae. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Trent Baird; Clark Fields and wife Melissa; Tiffany Ringener and Matt Baraga; Jared Ringener and wife Kristina; and Janessa Foster and husband Kasey, along with multiple great-grandchildren who brought her great joy. She is also survived by her siblings, Ed Phillips and Sandra Beard and husband Bubba, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Frances will be remembered for her strong work ethic, generosity, her love of family, and her lasting impact on the Big Spring community.
Frances will lie in state on Wednesday, December 31, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
