Frances Renfro, formerly of Austin, better known as "Aunt Frances" to all her nieces and nephews, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 18, 2010, in Midland at the age of 90 years. A Celebration of Frances's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at the Chapel at Evergreen Cemetery, Stanton, with Rev. Monte Kreis, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.Frances was born on October 11, 1920 to James D. and Lola Renfro in Joshua, Texas, the eldest of 5 daughters. In 1938 she graduated as valedictorian of Stanton High School and in 1942 she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas State College for Women, now known as Texas Women's University. In 1983 Frances received a 40 year service recognition award with the Texas Employment Commission. She was also presented a certificate of appreciation for outstanding service in the TEC Benefits Department and was instrumental in the publication of the Texas Unemployment Compensation Act (TUCA). "For her many years of devoted service and her most recent outstanding performance in the publication of the Texas Unemployment Compensation Act, Frances Renfro is hereby commended to recognize her superior contributions to the Unemployment Insurance Program in the State of Texas. Her willingness and dedication to meet the responsibilities of her assignments has placed her work in the highest traditions of the Texas Employment Commission." In 1985, Frances retired after 42 years of service with TEC and was presented a service recognition award by then administrator Bill Grossenbacher. She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Deavenport of Stanton and Betty Howard of Midland; a brother-in-law, Bill Cervenka of Waco; ten nieces and nephews, who had a very special place in her heart, Jim Howard and wife, Olivia, Barbara Howard Hueske and husband, Joel, Pug Deavenport Parris and husband, Rickey, Tommy Deavenport and wife, Gayle, Les Hall and wife, Julia, Donna Hall Stuck and husband, Mike, Larry Cervenka and wife, Jan, Ed Cervenka and wife, Ping, Norman Cervenka and Kenneth Cervenka and wife, Marilyn; thirteen grand nieces and nephews and eleven great grand nieces and nephews.Frances was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary Ruth Renfro Hall and Helen Renfro Cervenka.Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
