Frances Morene Swann, age 95 of San Angelo, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 24, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 2:00pm at Immanuel Baptist Church in San Angelo, Texas.
She was born on April 10, 1926 in Gustine, Texas to parents Andrew Jefferson Cox and Connie Elizabeth (McCullough) Cox.
Frances worked at the Coahoma State Bank for many years. She was a homemaker, caregiver, and was always in the kitchen cooking and making cakes. She loved traveling and camping with her husband in their motor home. She enjoyed doing needle work and making cloth books for her grandkids. Frances never met a stranger, she knew everything about everyone. She was a devout Christian and loved the Lord, she never missed Sunday morning church. She loved people and always went out of her way to help anyone. Frances was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 19 years old. She researched and researched her diagnosis and took such good care of herself. From doing so, she was the oldest surviving type 1 diabetic.
Survivors include her son, Marcus Swann and wife Debrah; brother, Preston Cox; grandkids: Monica Turney and husband Robert, Jason Swann and wife Heather; great grand kids: Sierra Turney, Maggie Turney, Benjamin Turney, Camryn Swann and Elijah Swann; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Swann (Rec); parents, Andrew and Connie Cox; sister and brother in law, Juanita Owen and husband Charles.
The family would like to say thank you to the nurses at Baptist Memorial and Sagecrest for taking such good care of her.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Emmanuel Baptist Church and American Diabetes Association.
