“Allow the light and the healing presence of Christ to shine brightly through your lives. In that way, all those who come in contact with you, will discover the loving kindness of God.”
-Saint Pope John Paul II
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Frances (Fran) A. Thetford, March 27, 2025 in Midland, TX. She was born in McComb, Mississippi on May 23, 1925, daughter of the late Lindsey and Claudia Anderson.
Fran was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, R.E. (Ted) Thetford; two daughters, Romana (Rommie) Breeze and Maureen Austin Banks; one grandchild, and five half brothers and sisters.
Upon her death, she was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. As a convert to Catholicism, she delved deeply in the richness of her religion. Her deep-rooted faith became a large part of her legacy. She prayed for and with so many others through the years, in their time of need.
Fran is survived by her children, Michelle Hogan, Gerry Thetford, Michael Thetford and Theresa Thetford; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 7:00 pm, with viewing from 5:00pm – 9:00 pm. Her service will be held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Midland, Texas, April 4, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Resthaven North Cemetery.
