Florence Larsh passed away on February 15, 2022 due to cancer.
She was born in San Angelo, Texas on November 3, 1929 to NB and Mary Ruth Darlin Larsh.
“Flossie” as she was known to her friends was a longtime resident moving to Midland with her family in 1934. Flossie graduated from Midland High in 1947. She went on to receive an associate degree from Christian College (now Columbia College) in Columbia MO, then on to attend the University of Arizona and graduated with a BBA from Sul Ross State University.
Flossie started working with Humble Oil & Refining Co (now Exxon Mobil) in 1952 and took early retirement in 1982. She served on the City Parks and Recreation Commission for two terms from 1985 to 1991. She also served on the Board of the Children’s Community Clinic. At the time of her death she was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
Her greatest pleasures were playing golf at Green Tree Country Club and being a member of the Ladies Golf Association. She enjoyed being with friends, gardening in her yard and working with charity. She enjoyed animals, particularly calico cats, having five over the past forty years.
Flossie had four hole-in-ones playing golf at Lakeridge Country Club in Lubbock; Barton Creek in Austin during qualifying Round of Women’s State Amateur Championship; Green Tree Country Club in Midland; and Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club in Alto, NM. She qualified and played in six state amateur tournaments.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John. She is survived by cousins, friends and calico cat Tootie.
Father Bob Hennigan of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church will officiate at a private service at Resthaven Memorial Park.
