During the early morning hours of October 4th, Faye Walker left this world to take her place in Heaven wrapped safely in the arms of Jesus. She died in her home with her family at her side. Faye was a strong Christian woman who gave solace to her family by telling them the day of her passing was of God’s choosing. There has never been a more giving soul on this earth.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 8, 2021 at Nalley Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
Faye was born to Claude and Bertha Eggleston December 19, 1926 and was the last of 10 children. She grew up picking cotton during the depression, understood the value of a hard day’s work and praised Jesus everyday of her life. One night at a local community gathering she met her future husband Carroll Walker. Carroll and Faye married on September 26, 1943. The couple started their life together working the Walker’s cotton farm like the two generations before them. Carroll and Faye had three children – Leroy, Elaine and Wendell.
Surviving are her children and spouses Leroy and Alma Walker, Elaine East, and Wendell and Charla Walker. She has 12 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband Carroll; her sisters Willie Ringener, Beatrice Hightower, and Helen Cowan; brothers Charles, Lawrence, Billy, Elzi, Loris and Dee Eggleston. Also, her son-in-law Jan East, her grandson Paul Walker, grand son-in-law Shane Kemper, and great grandsons Kasen Zane Lee and Charles Wendell Haile.
In Faye’s honor, the family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Shane Kemper Foundation (nursing scholarships) at P.O. Box 1713, Big Spring, TX. 79721 or the Forsan ISD Scholarship, the Jan East Memorial at PO Box 689 Forsan, TX 79733.
