Jackie Lynn Hanna, 94, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 8, 2021. Born in a small farming community, she was the sixth of eight children. She started her education in a one-room school house and graduated as Valedictorian of her high school class, earning a full college scholarship. She attended Texas Technological College and met her beloved husband of almost 40 years, Elmer S. Lynn, in Lubbock, Texas while he was stationed at Lubbock Army Air Field. After Elmer completed his degree in petroleum geology, the couple lived in Tatum, New Mexico for several years before moving to Midland where Jackie resided until her death.
Jackie was a loving, nurturing, stay-at-home mom while her children were young, and later she worked as an accountant for Phyllis Huffman, M. D. for some fourteen years. She proved to be an excellent, well-respected office manager and counted her colleagues among her many dear, life-long friends. During these years she was an active member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed playing bridge, listening to music and singing. She knew all the words to every song imaginable!
Jackie was fortunate to fall in love and marry again after Elmer passed away. She met Paul Hanna through mutual friends, and she and Paul were married for twenty-one years. They enjoyed a happy life together traveling with friends and especially cherished spending time with children and grandchildren at their beautiful lake home. After her marriage to Paul, Jackie became an active member of First Christian Church and worshiped there for many years.
Jackie was a beautiful person inside and out, and people were naturally drawn to her. She loved people and always wanted to help others. Even in her last years she could be found assisting those less physically able than she. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to be a part of her life.
Jackie was predeceased by both of her husbands, her parents, siblings, her beloved sister-in law, Nollie Sullins, and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by daughter Linda Hollabaugh (Phillip), daughter Terri Haden (Paul), son Larry Lynn (Neala), five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces.
The family would like to thank the staff of Manor Park for their care and support over the years.
There was a private family graveside held at Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations be made in remembrance of Jackie to First Christian Church of Midland, St. Jude’s Hospital, or your favorite charity.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
