Emzie Woodard, Jr., 64, of Big Spring, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021. A Graveside Service will be at 10:00am, Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel.
He will lie in state from 9:00am to 9:00pm Friday, October 1, 2021 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
He was born September 25, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas. Emzie was raised and educated in Big Spring, Texas. Emzie worked in the oil field for over 30 years and rose to the rank of Rig Operator during his time there.
Emzie was known for his great sense of humor and magnetic personality.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Woodard; two sons: Terrance Sinclair Woodard and Emzie Woodard III; two daughters: Gwen Wines (Alonzo Jr) and Jazmaine Austin (Gary); four brothers: Emmett Woodard, James Woodard (Marie), Michael Vanderbilt and Donald Vanderbilt; three sisters: Emily Turner (Lonnie), Tammey Penny and Joyce Carr (Kenneth). Emzie also has seven grandchildren: Jordan, Jeffrey, Niomi, Alonzo III, Aniyah, Jeremiah, Makayla, Alyssa and Haleigh. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emzie and Florida Woodard and a brother Curtis Williams.
