I am his namesake, he is my eponym. Im using present tense because his energy will be with me forever. Every time i feel a cool breeze of air, i will think of my uncle Emzie. Your sons are a constant reminder of your legacy. Inheritance is what you leave with people, & those things will become obsolete. Legacy is what you leave in them, and those values will appreciate forever. As i reflected this past week on his life, from my vantage, i was reminded that it is never too late to make a change. Im reminded that we are all one decision away from our ideal life. Watching him raise little Emzie was a testament that fathers dont raise sons, we raise our heroes. A good father is a man who expects his son to be as good of a man as he meant to be. And Uncle Emzie was a good father, and the coolest uncle. I dont think his tone of voice ever changed. He was a genuinely nice person who enjoyed luring his opponent to defeat in dominos. I will miss his phone calls, playing bones & trashing his Cowboys every Sunday. But again, his energy is forever with me. Rest in peace Uncle Emzie. Job well done.

I know God's plan is the perfect plan and I also know that sometimes we feel great weight knowing we must remain here a little longer without their voices and presence to fill a part of our day. I pray Emzie is now at peace and awaits his soul mate to join him in everlasting life. I pray for my Sister, Cyn, who I love dearly and know that God has her and Emzie in his hands. God Bless Emzie, Cyn and their family.

My prayers go out to all of the family. Emzie and I went to school together and he was always a good friend. May the family feel the sweet arms of Jesus wrapping around all of you giving you peace and comfort as only He can.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I take comfort in knowing that Uncle Emzie is at peace now. He might be playing dominoes (inside joke). He was always telling jokes. His laugh was one of kind. So many memories, and yet it seems like there's not enough. He definitely will be missed. I send my prayers and love to my family.
