Ellen Franz Palmer, 85, of Midland, passed away on November 25th, at her home surrounded by some of her children. A gathering will be held on Saturday, November 28th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.Ellen was born on September 15, 1924, in Premont, Texas, to Lee and Augusta Forke Franz. She married John Palmer in April of 1944 who preceded her on January 31, 1986. She worked as a secretary before retiring. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist and a resident of the Midland community for 57 years.She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed caring for her family. She was very active in her church. She enjoyed traveling and camping.She is survived by 2 daughters; Ann Niblock and her husband, Fred of Warrensburg, MO, and Patti Maher and her husband, Greg of Waterbury, CT, 3 sons; John Palmer, Jr. of Denton, Bill Palmer of Glendale, AZ and Bob Palmer and his wife, Jan of Fort Worth, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.She was preceded by her husband, her parents, her daughter; Ellen Johnsrud, a brother; Bill Franz and 2 sisters; Leola Hill and Grace Franz.Funeral arrangements are under the care of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
