Edwin Arah “Ed” Burr, Jr. of Midland, Texas passed away on July 24, 2022, at the age of 85. After several weeks of declining health, Ed died peacefully in a Midland Hospital.
Ed was born in Norwalk, Ohio on May 2, 1937, to father Edwin Arah Burr, Sr. and mother Margie Alberta Kail. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1955. As a young man he and his father ran B and B Roofing Company. In 1966 he married the love of his life Beulah Lee Adkins. They moved to California where he worked 30 years for the Southern Pacific Railroad (later Union Pacific). In 2003 Ed moved to Midland, Texas and remained there till his death.
He is survived by his wife Beulah Lee (Adkins) Burr of Midland, Texas; his four children, James Douglas Deering of Aguanga, California; Michael Stephen Deering of Navarre, Florida; Diana Lee Small of Midland, Texas and Sharon Edwina Cochems of Boulder, Colorado; grandchildren Brian Alexander Small, Ryan Deering, Brianna Nichole Cochems, Christopher James Cochems and Kyle Anthoney Cochems.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Edwin Burr, Sr., and Margie Alberta (Kail) Burr; and his brothers Robert Eugene Burr, Charles Allen “Bud” Burr; and his sisters Marilyn June Zickafoose, Sally Jo Petrick and Dinah Lee Burr; and granddaughter Linda Hope Deering.
Graveside service is planned for Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 9 am. The graveside service will be held at Resthaven North, 6510 SH 349 C Loop, Midland, Tx.
