Edward "Eddy Lee" AveryEdward Lee Avery, of Midland, loving husband, father and grandfather,passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Midland Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 10, 2007 atthe Christian Church of Midland. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park., with Jim O'Banion officiating and Bob Blazek assisting. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 9, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home, 3800 N. Big Spring St. in Midland.He was born December 3, 1940 to Lottie Blackerby and Ogal B. Avery.Ed graduated from Stanton High School and for most of his career workedin the oilfields of Texas and Louisiana as a Production Superintendantand for the past 8 years worked with his son Brad Avery at HotlineUtility Construction and Lawson Equipment. Ed was a member of ChristianChurch of Midland where he served as a Deacon for many years. He wasknown for his quick wit and wonderful culinary creations, he also leavesbehind an adoring church family.He is survived by his devoted wife, Judith Allison Avery; six childrenLauri Avery Barber and husband Kelly of Covington, LA, Bradley RobertAvery and wife Linda of Garden City, Michael David Pelletier and wifeSheri of Lafayette, LA, Jeffrey Lewis Pelletier and Ginger ofLewisville, Melissa Avery Thompson and husband Mark of Palmer, AK andCharles Bennett Pelletier and wife Andrea of Layfayette, LA, as well as14 adoring grandchildren and his mother-in-law Gladys S. Allison. He isalso is survived by two sisters, Yvonne Hrbacek of Odessa and LonitaCrocker of Weatherford, and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters.The family would like to extend special thanks to all Ed's caregivers atMidland Memorial Hospital Critical Care Unit.The six sons and sons-in-law will be pallbearers.
