Edna Fae Young, 86, of Big Spring, passed peacefully in Georgetown, Texas Saturday, December 30, 2023.
She was born March 29, 1937 to Louis and Susie Harrell in Stanton, Texas. She graduated from Knott High School and attended Howard College.
She married Bud Nichols in 1956 and later married Mark Young in 1981. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Big Spring. Edna was involved in the community as a member of the Hyperion Club and volunteered at the Howard County Library and Hangar 25 Museum.
Edna was a homemaker and also worked as a librarian, travel agent and a substitute mail carrier. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing, playing tennis, and attending the athletic events of her children, and later her grandchildren.
Survivors include two children, Marcie Goza and husband, Micah, of Florence, Texas and Weldon Nichols of Big Spring; five grandchildren, Skyler Nichols, Stephanie Haile, Noah Goza, Aubrey Goza and Chesney Goza; and two great grandchildren, Blake Wattinger and Mayla Goza.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, sister Edith Christian and one brother Glynn Harrell.
The family suggest memorials be made to the West Texas Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association, Midland, Texas.
