Eddy Thomas Willmon, 84, of Midland, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 surrounded by his family. Eddy was born on September 12, 1938 in Terrell, Texas to Millie Humphreys Willmon and William Jack Willmon. He graduated from Pecan Gap High School in 1957, and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1962. Eddy married Peggy Cohea on June 3, 1960, after which they spent the next 62 loving years together. Eddy was a loving father to his two children, “Papa” to his five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a lifelong Texas Tech fan and a member of Fannin Terrace Baptist Church. He regularly shared his love of the outdoors and sports with his family, attended every sports game, dance recital, swim meet, and band concert that his family had. Eddy spent countless hours building tree houses, blanket forts, and lemonade stands for his grandchildren, and loved a good competitive game of dominoes.
Eddy is survived by his wife, Peggy Willmon; son William Willmon and wife Vonda, daughter Cindy Delgado and husband Ed; his granddaughter Crystal Pate and husband Braden, granddaughter Alysa Milam and husband Tyler, granddaughter Meagan Langston, grandson Justin Willmon and wife Addye, granddaughter Julia Delgado; and his seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson-in-law, Tanner Langston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made to the Permian Basin Honor Flight or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Pallbearers will be Justin Willmon, Braden Pate, Tyler Milam, and Randy Phillipy.
