Eddie Darryl “Ed” Frazier, 56, of Midland, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX.
Eddie was born on February 28, 1965 to Bernice Bell Frazier and Eddie Drayton in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Ed attended English High School in Boston, Massachusetts. He moved to Midland, Texas in 1984 and attended Midland College where he received his Associates Degree. He was also a part of the Men’s Basketball Team from 1984 to 1986.
Eddie “Coach Ed” was well known around the basketball courts. He had a wild sense of humor, you would be sure to laugh after talking to him. He had this contagious personality that everyone was drawn to. Ed knew no stranger and was a friend to all that came in contact with him. He worked part-time at Tony’s Wash & Detail for a period of time. Over the years, he coached summer basketball teams in which he was very passionate about. It gave him great joy to hear about all of the accomplishments his basketball boys achieved throughout the years. He also enjoyed volunteering at The Boys and Girls Club of Midland, playing dominos and spades with his friends. Most of all, he loved hanging out with his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bernice Bell Frazier and Eddie Drayton; Both Grandparents. Extemded kid; Marvin Earl “Think-Think” Washington.
He is survived by his precious wife, Jonetta Jackson Frazier and daughters: Taneesha R. Ross of St Louis, MO, Bershunta Jo’Lissa Frazier and Rinna Berry of Midland, TX. Sons: Eddie E’keem Frazier, Murlin Thomas “MT” Frazier (Brittini), and Clarence Ra’heem Frazier. Brother: Clarence Frazier of Roxbury, MA. Aunts: Annie M. Bell of Roxbury, MA, Narvie McDonald and JoEtta Staggers (Lee), 14 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Extended kids: Marlon Rashad Washington, Marcus Tremaine Washington (Vanessa), sister: Yvette Moore-Edwards (Justin), brother: Calvin Jackson.
