Earnestine Cain Winterrowd, 90, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, December 11, 2010, in a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas with Rev. Curtis Brewer officiating.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, December 13, 2010, at the funeral home at Nalley-Pickle-Welch in Big Spring, Texas.Mother was born on July 24, 1920, in Denton, Texas to Earnest and Ila Maud Minton Cain, and married Curtiss W. Winterrowd on March 31, 1939 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1979.Mother lived in Pecos, Texas from 1950 until 1977. While residing there, she worked as a bookkeeper, owned Earnestine's, a children's clothing store, and joined the Order of the Eastern Star. Mom was very active in the First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. Mother moved to Odessa, Texas in 1977, where she joined the First Baptist Church of Odessa, remained active in Eastern Star, and joined the Social Order of the Beauceant. Mom was a member of the Porcelain Arts Club and was a Pink Lady at Odessa Regional Hospital. In addition, she volunteered at the Baptist Student Union at Odessa College.Mother moved to Big Spring, Texas in 2003 to be closer to family. She attended the First Baptist Church of Big Spring, continuing her service in the Big Spring Chapter 409 and Stanton Chapter 67 Order of the Eastern Star. Mom was also active in Odessa and Midland Chapters, and celebrated 50 years in the Order. She held countless offices at both local the and state levels. Mom also continued to be active in the Social Order of the Beauceant 211 in Big Spring Assembly.Mother's love of God, family and benevolent service gave her extreme joy and contentment. Her love of music and piano brought much happiness and touched many lives.Earnestine was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Judy Christine Winterrowd, three brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include two daughters and one son: Gwen Byrd of Cedar Park, Pat Myrick and husband, Gordon of Big Spring, and Curtiss Winterrowd and wife, Janet of Burnet; five grandchildren: Kandis, Cydni, Kirk, Keri and Russell; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church, 709 N.
