Doctor Jerry Lee Cochran passed away at his home on July 10th, 2014. He was born in Ada, Oklahoma on August 31st, 1947 to JB and Pauline Cochran. He graduated from Ada High School then went on to attend East Central University in Oklahoma. It was there, in his Freshman year, that he met and fell in love with his \angel on earth\ Mary Jane White. Four years after meeting, Jerry and Mary married on February 2nd, 1968. In that same year, Jerry went on to attend The University of Oklahoma Medical School and later, completed his orthopedic surgery residency at The University of Kansas, in Wichita. Jerry and Mary were blessed with two children, Erin Leigh and Ryan Hart. He moved his young family to Altus, Oklahoma in 1976 to begin practicing his specialty of Arthroscopic Reconstruction of the knee. In 1981, the Cochran family arrived in Midland, Texas where 'Doc' has practiced medicine and touched lives every day for the last 33 years.Jerry was a deeply devoted family man, blessed to have spent most of his life with his great love, Mary. Jerry and Mary built an extraordinary life together; traveling, establishing a career, and raising a family. He was extremely proud of his children and their many accomplishments. Later, his four grandchildren made him laugh on a daily basis and no one was more loved than 'Big Dog' or 'Papa.'Medicine was his passion. A skilled surgeon and a kind soul, he spent his entire career providing the most excellent care and concern to each and every one of his patients. Always quick to offer a hug or a word of encouragement, he brought joy and comfort to his patients as well as to his staff. Jerry was a one of a kind doctor and the medical profession was lucky to call him one of their own.A wood-worker, an avid reader and a lover of fast cars, he was a unique and talented man. The world will deeply miss the bright, shining light that was Doc Cochran. To have been in his glow and to have felt his love, is an honor so many have been blessed to receive. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Glen Cochran Sr. and his daughter, Erin Cochran.
