Doyle Clifton (Cliff) Summers was born March 3, 1931 in Winters, Texas the fourth of five children to Jesse James an Inez Dobbs Summers. After a short time they returned to San Saba County. He met the love of his life Doris Jean Taff in Brady, Texas. They married May 24, 1952. Shortly after their marriage he was drafted into the US Army and proudly served his country for 18 months in Korea receiving two bronze stars.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Jo Sumers wife Bobbye and nephew Tim, sisters Nell and husband Don Harris, June and husband Woody Riggs, and niece Sheila Harris, brother-in-laws Leon Taff, George Mack Taff, Jo and Cotton Evans, special friends, Joe Howell and Jerry Daves.
After his honorable discharge they moved to Midland, Texas in 1958. Where he went to work for Gray Plumbing and earned his Journeyman plumbing license. Later working for the Darville company and he retired in 1999.
Cliff met his Lord and Savior in 1962 and was baptized at Kelview Heights Baptist Church.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Jean of 70 years; Chuck and Clara Summers; sister-in-law, Marianne Taff, numerous nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved and was loved by them.
