Dorothy Roberta Trent

Dorothy (Roberta) Sherrod Trent was born on May 15, 1927, in Knoxville, Tennessee to Henry and Dora Sherrod and was sister to Ralph Sherrod, Bill Sherrod, and Rosalie Cline. She was married to Raymond Lee Trent, also of Knoxville, and together, they had three sons. During her lifetime, Dorothy was a beautiful, Christian woman who cherished her family and was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to talk about her childhood in Tennessee, her dreams of becoming a nurse, her desire to visit Germany, and her time working as a telephone operator. Dorothy was a wonderful storyteller with a green thumb and a tendency to take in any stray cat that was lucky enough to cross her path.

Dorothy is survived by her two eldest sons, Edward H. Trent of Greenwood, Texas and Gary Trent of Savannah, Georgia, their wives, many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and even a few great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband, and her youngest son (John A. Trent of Bagley, Minnesota). Dorothy was cared for in recent years by her daughter-in-law, Dorene Trent, for whom she was always so grateful. She passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the age of ninety-six (96) and will be missed by all who knew her and were blessed to be in her life.
