Dixie Jane Brooks

Brooks, Dixie Jane , 63, of Stanton, died on Thursday, November 23, 2000, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, November 27, 2000 at First Baptist Church in Stanton with Rev. David Harp, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Midland. Dixie was born on May 21, 1937 in Mitchell County, Texas and married Johnnie Brooks on November 21, 1961 in Midland, Texas. Dixie had been a resident of Stanton since 1961. She worked as a manager of the Senior Center and the Chamber of Commerce from 1979 to 1984 and Dairy Queen from 1974 to 1975. She had also worked at the Dairy Treat and Stanton Flowers. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Brooks of Stanton; one sister, Myra Nita Vest of Stanton; four brothers, Charlie Webb of Strawn, Bille Gene Webb of Odessa, Clayton Edward Webb of Midland and Tommy Carroll Webb of San Antonio, ten nephews and sixteen nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse P. and Odessa Webb, one brother and one sister. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home.,
