Dewayne Steven Wagner, 70, of Big Spring, died Friday, April 25, 2014 in the Odessa Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Big Spring. Dewayne was born April 9, 1944 in Alva, Oklahoma to the late John and Florence Christine (Knabe) Wagner. He married Nancy Jo Hall, February 6, 1992 in Big Spring. Dewayne started a career in law enforcement in Oklahoma. This only lasted a few years then he was Divinely led to Big Spring. Everyone who has grown up in Big Spring since the early 70's has Dewayne to thank for the Sonic on Gregg Street. He built the Sonic in 1971 and was the owner and operator for 13 years. He greatly cared about the young people that he employed, and there are many great memories such as after-hours bowling parties. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. Survivors include his wife Nancy Jo Wagner of Big Spring; daughter, DeLisa Gayle Wade of Big Spring and her children, Kelly Jay Wade and wife, T.J. and Tyler Jay Wade; sons Deric Steven Wagner of Houston, and Dancel Christopher Wagner of Big Spring, and his children, Mathew Dewayne Wagner and Kaiden Steven Wagner; step-daughter, Tricia Deann Boren and husband, Wesley of Big Spring, and their children, Keagan Andrew Parker, Steven Andrew Boren, Sarah Michelle Stonerook, Cassie Renee Stonerook, Caitlin Jade Boren, and Sean Donavon Boren; step-daughter Lucy Johnette Williams and husband, Robert of Big Spring, and their children, Emily Johnette Campos, Reuben Michael Campos, Caden Robert Williams, and Hailey Deann Williams; step-son, David Henry Hillger, Jr. and wife, Joie of Big Spring, and their children, Sidney Jo Knecht, Ehren Patrick Hillger, and Kia Jade Hillger; great grandchildren, Reese Lauren, Rylan Jay, K'dynce, Kalyb, and a baby on the way; two brothers Buckley Dale Wagner and David Oliver Wagner; one sister, Faith Maxine Gassett; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dewayne was preceded in death by two brothers Daniel Lee Wagner and Clint John Wagner; and one sister Darlene Eloise Larcade.
