Delano Shaw, 69, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, March 16, 2006, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Larry Mathis of Brownwood, officiating and Chaplain Dan Shadix with the VA Medical Center, assisting. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.Delano was born on September 30, 1936 in Knott to W. A. and Angeline Shaw, a pioneer Howard County family. He was the middle son the first set of triplets born in Howard County, Franklin, Delano and Roosevelt. He married Claudia Nichols in October 1957 in Big Spring and she preceded him in death. Delano worked at Fina Oil and Chemical Refinery in the polystyrene department until retiring. He was a Baptist and had served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1961. He had served as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention during the Carter Administration.Survivors include one son, Reggie Shaw of Big Spring; one daughter, Margie Strickland of Big Spring; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Larry Shaw of Knott, Verl and Ioma Shaw of Big Spring, Franklin and Starlie Shaw of Seminole, Roosevelt and Patsy Shaw of Big Spring and Ronald and Jennie Shaw of Smyer; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nelda and Dick Tobias of Arlington and Joann and J. E. Peugh of Stanton; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Ryan and Reginald Isaiah Shaw; his parents; three brothers, Marlin Shaw, Gene Shaw and Summer Lee Shaw and one sister, Rhodell Kirby. The family suggests memorials be made to Disabled American Veterans, 807 W.
