In the early morning hours of May 2, 2017, David F. Walker Jr. passed away unexpectedly in his sleep. David was born April 8, 1976 in Midland, Texas. David was a loving son, brother, husband, and stepfather. His family will forever have fond memories of the man he was, the music he made, the art he created, and the joy he brought through his often silly demeanor. David was a kind person who put the ones he loved before himself. His caring soul was seen clearly through his love of dogs. He had an amazing bond with his dogs – Bonk and Merlin. He particularly loved Great Danes. He once said he loved that breed so much because they were like “real life cartoons.”David is preceded in death by his loving dad, David Walker. He is also preceded by his four grandparents: Robert (Papa) Walker, Marie (Mema) Walker, Georgia Hutchings, Millard Hutchings; his aunt Anne Cihonski and her husband, Rick; and his uncle, Bobby. He is survived by his sweetheart, Mandy and their children Jaycee and Aaron; his mom, Wanda; his brothers and their wives – Matthew and Kimberly, and Jon and Emmeline; his niece and nephew – Lucy and Jack; his uncles, Robert and Sandy, Terry, Dency and Colleen, and Bobby’s wife Sandy; his cousins Raquelle and family, and Robert Charles and Jenny. He leaves behind an amazing collection of artwork for the family to cherish forever.David is now at peace. His struggles, ceased. His guitar, muted. His paintbrush, permanently hung to dry. He is now reunited with his dad. He will be infinitely missed. The void he leaves will be large and lasting.A private service was held for family and close friends on Friday, May 5, at 10:30 am at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland, TX.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Great Dane rescue society: http://texasgreatdane.org/donate/.Arrangements were under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland,
