David James “Yankee” Henry, was born December 29th, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. He passed peacefully Friday March 24, 2023. Although born in New York City this “Yankee” as he was known to his friends, has been a resident of Big Spring, Texas for the last 54 years. He initially fell in love with Big Spring while stationed at Webb Air Force Base as a flight engineer. He then returned to make this town his permanent residence after his discharge from the service. Yankee has always loved adventure. He was also a stock car racer and a team roper.
David is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Becky. He is also survived by his only child, Kim Henry, from his first wife, Alice Henry. His three grandchildren, Brittany Henry, Brayden Miles, and Bryce Juarez. Two great-grandchildren Kaylen and Kaeden Flores. David is also survived by his sister-in-law Neva Brunson and his sister Lois Gibson.

A celebration of life is being planned for July 29th, 2023.
