David G. Hanson, 48, of Carrollton, formerly of Big Spring, died on Friday, April 13, 2001, in Miami, Florida. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Dudley Mullins, pastor of East Fourth Street Baptist Church, officiating. He was born on August 17, 1952 in Big Spring, Texas and married Mona Bennight on June 4, 1993 in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1970. He attended Howard College and worked for Bill Hanson Trucking for eight years. He moved to Dallas in 1983 and worked in the wholesale shoe business until his death. David was a member of East Fourth Street Baptist Church. He was also a member of Southwestern Shoe Traveler's Association, Shoe Markets of the America's, Western Shoe Associates and North American Shoe Traveler's Association, and was a life member of the Two/Ten Foundation. Survivors include his wife, Mona Bennight-Hanson of Carrollton; three sons, Britt Hanson of Levenworth, Kansas, James Bennight and Paul Bennight both of Plano; and his parents, Bill and Carolyn Hanson of London, Texas. He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Mark Hanson. The family suggests memorials to: The Two/Ten Foundation, 1466 Main St., Waltham, Massachusetts 02451 or the donor's favorite charity.
