David Edward Clinkscales, 56, of Las Cruses, New Mexico, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, in a Carlsbad, New Mexico hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Big Spring with Rev. Bobby Fuller, officiating.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, January 21, 2011, at the funeral home.He was born on January 19, 1954, in Great Bardfield, Essex, England to Jack and Georgina Clinkscales. David graduated from Big Spring High School with the class of 1972. He was a long time resident of Big Spring until July of 2009 when his job of District Coordinator for AFLAC in Las Cruces took him to New Mexico.David was a member of the First Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge in Big Spring. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and an ardent NASCAR fan of Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He will be missed by all.He is survived by his loving wife, Caren Carruth Clinkscales; his mother, Georgina Clinkscales of the family home; one son, Austin Clinkscales; one daughter, Desiree Clinkscales; a step-daughter, Kristin Baggett; a step-son, Brandon Carruth; his grandson, Gage Nicholas; two sisters, Anne Schulz and husband, Patrick and Brenda Doil and husband, Jack; a nephew, Jason Doil and wife, Veronica; a niece, Barbara Bickel; and a great-nephew, Garrett Doil.He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Clinkscales; two older brothers, Peter and John Clinkscales; and many friends and co-workers.The family suggests memorials be made to AFLAC Children's Cancer Center, Atlanta, Georgia.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
