David Blane Pittman, age 65, of Big Spring passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at a local hospital, after a lengthy illness.
David was born October 1, 1957 in Big Spring to John Marlin and Nila Bailey Pittman. He attended Big Spring schools but entered the Army before his senior year. David married Patricia Jo Harman in Silver Springs, Maryland, September 24, 1977. During his time in the military, three sons were born, Jason, Samuel and Nathan. After leaving the Army, he worked many years for Compucom as a documentation writer and traveled often for the company until his health began to decline. He took small jobs until he was able to get on disability. He had been ill for several years. David was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his dads, John Pittman and Lawrence Allen, one grandson, twin nieces, step-sisters: Wanda Allen Chaney and Sue Allen Phifer.
He is survived by his wife, Patty, sons Jason, Sam (Jessica), and Nathan, all of Big Spring and daughter, Deeanna (Michael) Covington of Lubbock. His mother Nila Allen of Big Spring, sister Londa Hail of Salem, Oregon, brother Mark Allen (Tammy) of Blackwell, and step-brothers: Sidney and Ronnie Allen of San Angelo and several extended family members.
David chose to be cremated with no service. The family may choose to have a memorial service at a later date.
The family would like to thank all the medical professionals who took care of David over the years. God has taken care now.
