Debbie Brumley left a message on September 4, 2025:
Dal walked with integrity. He loved his family and had a soft spot for Melanie. You could tell when he mentioned her. But he loved his boys with pride though small bouts of concern but only because he wanted the best for them. But I will say he was a Son that was a blessing to his Mom. He would mention taking her here or there, and you could tell it was his pleasure to do for her. He was a great boss and friend that can never be replaced. Dal, his daily contributions to friends, family, and the new person he just met always making them feel special in a small way and his great smile will be missed greatly.

It was indeed a shock to hear about this. We just saw him recently when he came over to Andrews to check on us . He was always smiling and ever so courteous to everyone. We recommended him to all our friends and everyone was glad we did so as he took such good care of all of us . This is a huge loss to all of us and Blue Cross has lost a champion. Sumana joins me in sending our condolences to his family. May God bless his family and may he Rest In Peace with Jesus Christ taking care of him.

Stephen Rodriguez left a message on August 27, 2025:
Dal Watson was a great umpire and referee, and I always appreciated when he called my games because I knew I was getting one of the best. Beyond the calls on the field or diamond, he carried himself with fairness, respect, and a genuine love for the game and the people in it. Dal wasn’t just an official—he was a role model, a steady presence, and a man who made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. The sports community didn’t just lose a great official, we lost a truly great man.

Brian Gray left a message on August 26, 2025:
Dal made a huge impact in my life. I first met him while coaching my boys in Little League. I remember seeing him umpire my nephew’s games many years ago and how good he was. I remember asking my bLaw who that umpire was that wore the Oakley glasses because I loved the way he carried himself and managed the field. Years later after umpiring many of my games and calming me down he became a great mentor to me as a coach and a dad. I learned more about his life and how special it was that this legend was umpiring my boys games as he himself has been a coach, player, umpire and most importantly a Dad. Eventually he forced me to umpire as well and went out of his way to get me geared up in his old gear. I absolutely loved umpiring with him as he treated every game no matter if it was little league, freshman, or varsity like it was a state championship. He told me the kids, parents, and coaches deserve nothing less. I sure hope Midland names a park or field after Dal as he left such a great impact on so many and it just wont be the same not seeing my favorite white hat out there on Friday nights. Love you lots Dal.
