Clifford Thomas “Tommy” Coats, 75, of Big Spring, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm, Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10am, Monday, September 26, 2022 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Tommy was born October 29, 1946 to Q.T. and Berniece Coats in Lamesa, TX and was married to Lupe Rowland for 18 years. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. When he graduated from high school, he was drafted into the Army where he worked at West Point N.Y. After he came home, he worked for various oilfield companies. In 1999, he received his Associates Degree from Texas Tech and became a Land Agent where he traveled all 48 states. He later retired in 2020 due to medical reasons. Tommy enjoyed spending time out in his shop, feeding the birds, and working on his collection of vehicles. He enjoyed visiting with his three angels..his adopted granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife, Lupe Rowland; Sissy II and critters; sister: Debby Reed; daughter: Marcilee Camacho and husband Steven; two granddaughters: Shadee and Andree Camacho; great niece: Stormie and husband Mitch McMahon and son Ryan; great great nieces: Liz and Clare Rice; his adopted granddaughters: Destiny and Jade Hodnett and Dani Rowland; sister-in-law: Mary Reyes and husband Bobby and Josie Gillilan; and numerous uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janie Coats; his parents; brother, Q.T. Coats; niece Deedra Rice; his companions, Sissy Coats and Pistol Coats; sister-in-law, Theresa Hodnett and husband Don.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donating to Wounded Warrior Project or your favorite charity.
