Cleo Beatrice Hodges, 85, of Big Spring, died on Monday, August 6, 2001, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 9, 2001, at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. David Harp, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Stanton, officiating. The family will recieve friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home. She was born on August 8, 1915 in Eastland Co., Texas and married E. L. Hodges on February 5, 1931 in Lovington, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1984. Mrs. Hodges and her late husband lived in Ackerly and Big Spring most of their life. She had worked as a nurses aid at Big Spring State Hospital for ten years until she retired. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Survivors include: three daughters, Janice Wagner and Mary Evelyn Bilbrey both of Big Spring, and Judy Busby of Amarillo, Texas, one son William Bartlett (Bill) Hodges of Bertram, Texas, 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 22 great great grandchildren, six sisters Geraldine Stone, Ella Williams, and Bernice Stevenson all of Lamesa, Wanda Calloway of Carlsbad, N.M., Madge Delaney of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dorothy Smith of Vernon, four brothers, Monroe Lauderdale of Odessa, Jack Lauderdale of Lamesa, Edward Lauderdale of Waco, and George Lauderdale of Trinity, Texas. Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by one son, John Leslie Hodges in December of 1961; one grandson, John Wesley Hodges in May of 1976, and two brothers. The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater West Texas Chapter, 4400 N.
