C J Langley, 90 of Midland, Texas passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020. Graveside services will be Monday, October 26, 1:00 PM at Rest Haven Cemetery, Midland, Texas.C J was born on August 4, 1930 in Junction City, Arkansas to parents Edward Langley and Floy Smith Langley. C J grew up in Three Creeks, Arkansas and attended his early school years at Shiloh School. After graduating from Junction City High School, he enlisted in the Navy. Upon the accidental death of his father, he was honorably discharged and returned home to help his family. He later moved to Midland, Texas to work in the oil fields. It was in Midland that he met Vera Beasley and married her in 1952. Together they had three children. C J provided for his family by working a wide array of jobs. His favorite jobs included servicing a Mrs. Baird’s bread route in Rotan, Texas and owning/operating a restaurant in Sweetwater, Texas.After the death of his spouse in 2007, C J became a resident of Brookdale Assisted Living in Midland. He remained living there until August 2020.C J was a people person with an outgoing personality. He was a long time member of Crestview Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. He especially loved playing dominoes with church friends each Friday. He also enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels with his friend, Jack Rice,In addition to Vera Beasley Langley, his loving spouse of 55 years, C J is preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Roy Langley and his grandson Jeff Wilson.He is survived by three children, Joe (Cheryl) Langley of Waxahachie, Texas, Carla (Larry) Williams of Levelland, Texas, and Jon Langley of Midland; brothers Donald (Yvonne) of Three Creeks, Arkansas, Bill Langley of Tyler, Texas, Bob (Polly) Langley of Tyler, Texas; sisters Mary Langley of Three Creeks, Arkansas, Lessie (Red) Wells of Crossett, Arkansas, and Melba Sims of Three Creeks, Arkansas. He is also survived by his grandson, Josh (Michelle) Langley of Grapevine, Texas and great grandchildren Jack and Reese Langley along with numerous nieces and nephews.The family would like to express their gratitude towards Courtyard Assisted Living and Memory Care of Odessa and Hospice of Midland.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Midland.,
