Christine Taylor, 93, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in a local nursing home. Graveside services will be 10:30 AM Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.She was born June 9, 1924 in Lecompte, Louisiana to Ivy Lee and Ruby Brady Hanks. She married Dr. William Taylor and he preceded her in death.Christine lived in Little Rock, Arkansas most of her life and moved to Big Spring in 1997. She was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Nursing and had worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. She enjoyed gardening. Christine was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Chapel Sunday School Class.Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Shroyer of Big Spring; one granddaughter, Deborah Shroyer of Reston, Virginia; and two sisters, Vera Wackerly and Alice Barton both of Forest Hill, Louisiana.She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Raymond Hanks, Ivy Lee Hanks, Jr., Phillip Hanks, Rodney Hanks and Eugene Hanks; and two sisters, Hazel Appel and Ileene Hutto.The family would like to say a special thank you to Linda Paredez and Visiting Angels and the staff at Parkview Nursing and Rehab for the excellent care given to Christine.The family suggests memorials First Baptist Church, 705 W.
