After 47 life-giving years on earth Christine Sherrill Henderson Wiginton has been promoted to her heavenly home on August 22, 2016, following a five year battle with cancer. Her love and devotion for her family and unwavering belief in our Lord gave her the strength she needed. Always remember, Our God is Greater!!She was born to Ronald and Virginia Henderson on November 25, 1968, in Odessa, Texas. She was raised in Alice and Pampa and graduated from Wink High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M University in 1994, her Master’s degree from Texas Tech in 2009. She began a lifelong career of 22 years at Greenwood Elementary School where she was blessed to sow into the lives of hundreds of dearly loved students. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma for many of those years. During this time she met the love of her life, Jeffrey Keith Wiginton, and married July 17, 1999.She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Mary Bowland, of Corpus Christi, TX and Fred and Margaret Henderson of Benavides, TX.Christine is survived by her husband of 17 years, Jeffrey and her daughter, Katelyn of Midland. She is also survived by her parents, Ronald and Virginia Henderson of Midland, TX, her brother Ronald Henderson, Jr. of Fort Worth, TX, her sister Catherine Henderson of Midland, TX. Her father-in-law and mother-in-law Eddie and Cel Wiginton of Midland, TX and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Chad and Kelley Wiginton of Cypress, TX, along with several extended family members all remembered with love.The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 6:00-8:00PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 3:00PM at First Baptist Church in Midland with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be Jason Cox, Garrett Cox, Larry Wheat, Anthony Wheat, Tommy Foster, and Terry Foster.The family would like to take this chance to thank the community of Greenwood for all their love, support, fund-raising and genuine care and concern for the Wiginton family during the last five years.
