Their children include Betty and Ray McKim, Sherry and Lee Cook, Jerry and Tahita Holloway, Belynda Campbell, Don and Donna Blake, John Smith, Ray Blake and Jim and Valerie Smith. His grandchildren include Jeff and Sonja Leary, Jason and Mauri Hopper, Michael and Chandra Brooks, Tonia Brooks and fiancé, Chris Baltzell, Alayna Smith and fiancé, Jeromy Yager, Trent and Brandi Smith, Savanah and Josh Tunnell, Sean Smith, Jessica and Marcus Washington, Winston Holloway and fiancé, Cathleen Cantrell, Dylan Cade, Andrew Blake, Jordan and Jeffery Kulaga, Megan and Brandon Taylor and Madison & Tyler Hinrichs, Macki & Emory McKim and Mallory McKim.He was also blessed with 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Glen Smith and wife, Paula; and a sister, Rose Pritchett.Charlie always enjoyed life to the fullest, whether it was work or play. He grew up working in the cotton fields and enjoyed hunting, shooting and family. He started the Martin County Super Shooters in 1977 and coached hundreds of kids in Martin County and other surrounding counties. He knew no boundaries when it came to spending time with kids. He loved telling stories, especially ones involving his family.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Martin County 4H, American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton, Texas. A memorial service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Martin County Community Center. A private family committal will take place prior to the memorial service at Evergreen Cemetery.
