Charley (C.B.) Traweek, Jr., 82, of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 in Big Spring. Funeral mass will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Midland with Father James Bridges, officiating. A rosary will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Charley was born on February 2, 1924, in Burkburnet, Texas to Charley Bee and Mary Isabell Ogburn. He married Thelma Mott on July 25, 1947 in Hamilton, MO.Charley attended schools in Commerce, Texas. He then joined the United States Marine Corps, serving for two years during World War II in Guam, Iwo Jima and China. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years, retiring in 1983. Charley enjoyed gardening and caring for his animals and was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Traweek of Midland, a son and daughter-in-law, Charley B. and Margie Traweek, III of Running Springs, California; a son, Stephen Marc and Zanna Traweek of Plains; a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Allen and Shawna Traweek of East Bernard, Texas; a son, Albert Edward Traweek of Midland; a daughter and son-in-law, Cecilia Marie and Gary Moore of Midland; a daughter and son-in-law, Mona Isabel & Thomas Ignas of Houston; a daughter-In-Law, Diania Traweek of Stanton; brother, Leslie Traweek of Lubbock; a brother, Cecil Traweek of Greenville, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. C.B. was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Timothy Russell Traweek, his brother, Dean Traweek and his sister, Mary Colleen Traweek.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702, or to Alzheimer?s Association, 4400 N. Big Spring St. Suite C32, Midland, TX 79705 or to Helping Hands, 1301 Brinson Ln.
