Charles Ray Parrish

Charles Ray Parrish, 93, of Coahoma, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024.  He will lie in state Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held.

Charles was born December 27, 1930 in Sparenberg, Texas to parents Linnie (Garner) and Charley Parrish. He had been a resident of Howard County since 1953 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coahoma.  He retired from the United States Air Force and following his retirement he worked many years for Coahoma ISD.

Charles is survived by daughter Connie Shaw and husband Mike of Coahoma; son James Lee Parrish of Big Spring; daughter Donna Rich and husband Daryl of Westbrook; one brother: Gary Parrish of Big Spring; one sister Bobbie Nell Smith of Cleburne; 7 grandkids and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Linnie and Charley Parrish; his wife Bettye Lou; brothers: Kenneth Parrish and Tommy Parrish; sisters: Marie Hazelwood, Barbara Ann Parrish and Cynthia “Cindy” Klaus.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Shane Kemper-Foundation, PO Box 1713, Big Spring, TX 79721.
