Charles Kenneth Osborn, 80, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, July 29, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Midland. Ken was born January 27, 1931 in Reagor Springs, TX to Lyda (Brown) and Charles Cecil Osborn. He married Amelia Quast of Sweetwater on January 27, 1951. She preceded Ken in death. Ken served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A & M University. He worked as a petroleum engineer with the Magnolia Oil Company and Core Laboratories. Ken was CEO of Osborn and Uhl Reservoir Engineering Company. He retired in 1992. He married Margaret McPherson on June 6, 1992 at First Baptist Church in Midland.He has been a part of the Midland community for 50 years. He worked with the Boy Scouts of America for a number of years. Even though Ken loved scouting, after retirement he dedicated himself to the service to the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to his family and to his church.Survivors include wife Margaret of Midland; daughters, Valerie Watkins of Midland and Brenda Goode of Wylie; son Kelly Osborn of Huntsville; stepdaughter Anne Seaberry of Aledo; stepsons, David McPherson, Jr. of San Antonio and Bill McPherson of Conroe; grandchildren, Jennifer Marcum of Irving, Vanessa Goode of Houston, Katie Goode of Austin, David McPherson, Lauren Culwell, Jordan McPherson, and Lendy Nicholson, all of Fort Worth, John Seaberry of Weatherford, Jennifer Sanderfer of Hendersonville, TN, and Steven McPherson, Ryan McPherson and Corey McPherson, all of Conroe; 6 great grandchildren; and sister Janet Roberts of Richardson.The family suggests memorials be made to The Life Center, 2101 W Wall ST, Midland, TX 79701 or Fair Havens Inc, 2400 Whitmire BLVD, Midland, TX 79705.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
