Charles Wright, 70, of Midland passed away July 13, 2020. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Living Vision Church Ministries in Odessa. All floral offerings should be taken to the church.The Life of “Rev”Charles Howard Wright was born May 3, 1950 in Chattanooga, TN to Howard Wright and Ernestine Stewart. He received his early education in Tennessee and later in 1958 moved to Midland, TX. He attended and graduated from Midland Senior High School and later attended Angelo State University until he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1970.Charles served in the U.S. Army as a Tactical Communication Systems Operator. He proudly served our country in the Vietnam War and was a Staff Sergeant at the end of his service. During his eight years, he received many military medals and decorations. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and a Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/Palm. He was honorably discharged on December 7, 1978.Not only was he committed to serving his country, he was also committed to serving the Lord. He served as the Assistant Pastor at Living Vision Ministries under the leadership of Pastor James D. Porter. He also taught Wednesday night Bible Study, YPWW, and Sunday School as well as being a member of the brotherhood. He was a faithful and dedicated member that loved serving his church. He never met a stranger and his infectious personality was a testament to God’s love in his heart.Charles was a churchman and he loved having church, he also had a love for music,bar-b-cueing, eating, fellowshipping and most of all family. In April of 1969, Charles’ oldest daughter Sharron Webster was born. On August 6, 1969 Charles Howard Wright married the love of his life Lillie Mae Weatherspoon. To this union was born Adrian Wright, Me’Esta Wright, and Charles “Aaron” Wright III. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, colleague and friend.On July 13, 2020 Charles Howard Wright transitioned from his earthly life to receive his eternal reward. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Johnny Mosley and Garnell Williams.Left to cherish Charles’ memories are his loving wife of 50 years, Lillie Mae Wright (Midland, TX); two brothers: Tommy Mosley (Midland, TX) and Donald Mosley (Atlanta, GA);three Daughters: Sharron (husband David) Webster (Ohio), Adrian Wright (Midland, TX), and Me’Esta Wright (Dallas, TX); one Son: Charles (wife Stefanie) Wright (Phoenix, AZ);Grandchildren: Priscilla Wright, Adrien Wright, Terrell Walton (daughter Aeriess Walton) (Florida), Brandon Webster (Ohio), Angel Webster (Ohio), Elizabeth Webster (Ohio), Dorian Webster (Ohio) and brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland.
