Charlene Stevenson Culpepper came into this world on October 3, 1937 and departed to Heaven on August 30, 2017. Charlene was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was proud of her birth state. She was the only child of Joseph Edward Stevenson and Grace Wyatt Stevenson. She married Harold Lamar Culpepper on October 12, 1957 and that is when the adventure began. Charlene and Lamar lived in Waynesboro, MS, New Orleans, LA, Houston, TX, and then finally found home in Midland, TX on July 4, 1970.Charlene was the love of Harold Lamar’s life. They weren’t just husband and wife, they were partners through and through. They had 59 wonderful years of marriage. They loved to travel, camp, fish, meet new people at restaurants and share their story. Charlene was a member of Kelview Heights Baptist Church. Charlene was a people person and never met a stranger. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family was her world. Charlene loved to visit her family in Louisiana. She was a volunteer for the MMH auxiliary for 10 years. Her family goes far beyond the people listed below.Charlene is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold Lamar; son, Steve Culpepper and wife Sherry; daughter, Terry Foster and husband Randy; daughter, Christi Culpepper and husband Oz Dincer; grandchildren, Charissa Culpepper, Cody Seth, Cassie Culpepper, Hannah Seth, Steven Culpepper, Cynthia Culpepper, Melissa Dincer, Rodney Foster, Erich Foster and Georgia Dakil; great grandchildren, Koda Foster, Lillith Barbour, Jordan Lockhart, Jody Foster, Gunner Foster, Hunter Doshier, CJ Seth, James Seth, Olivia Dakil and Landon Dakil.The family will receive guests from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, September 1, 2017 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The pallbearers will be Charlene’s grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Midland, 911 W Texas Avenue, Midland, TX 79702 or any organization that has made a difference in your life.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
